Deposit requests can have a deadline
When an Artist requests a Deposit on your Booking Request, they choose how long you have to pay it. It can be anywhere from 1 day to 30 days, and it's their call depending on their schedule.
If that window runs out before you pay, the Deposit request expires.
What happens when it expires
You can't pay that request anymore. That's the only thing that stops working. Your Booking Request isn't cancelled, and your conversation with the Artist is still there.
Nothing is charged to you when a request expires. You only ever pay when you complete a Deposit payment, and that payment goes to your Artist.
Reminders before it expires
You'll hear from us before the deadline:
A reminder the day after your Artist sends the request
A heads up 12 hours before it expires
Both come by push, email, and text, and they show up in your notifications in the app. If the Artist gave you a 1 day window, you'll get the 12 hour heads up only.
How to get a new Deposit request
Message the Artist in your chat on the Booking Request and ask them if they're willing to send it again. Artists might not always be willing to resend the Deposit request if they've Booked out, so we recommend paying before time runs out the first time.
On the Booking Request you'll see Deposit expired, with Contact the Artist as your next step. That's your cue to reach out.
What happens when they renew it
You'll get a notification that your Deposit request was updated, and the new request appears in your chat. Pay it and you're Booked, same as before. The new deadline starts from the moment the Artist sends it.
Why do Deposit requests expire at all?
Artists hold time for the Clients who Book them. A deadline keeps a request from sitting open forever while other Clients wait, and it helps your Artist plan their schedule. If you still want the tattoo, say so. Most Artists are glad to send it again.
