During tax season, here's what to know about your CO:CREATE payouts and 1099-K.
If you receive a 1099-K, it means your CO:CREATE payouts (processed through Stripe) met the IRS reporting threshold for that calendar year.
What is a 1099-K?
Form 1099-K is an IRS document used to report payments you received for goods and services through cards, payment apps, or online marketplaces like CO:CREATE.Will I get one this year?
It depends on whether your CO:CREATE payouts meet the IRS reporting threshold. These thresholds change year to year and can differ by state, so you might get one some years and not others, even with similar earnings. Stripe determines this based on the current rules and lets you know either way. What will I get from Stripe?
Stripe emails you whether or not you meet the threshold, letting you know it's handling the filing and any steps you need to take. How do I download my 1099-K?
CO:CREATE doesn't send 1099-K forms. Stripe does. If you set up a Stripe Express account and agree to paperless delivery, Stripe emails you when your form is ready to download in Stripe Express. Otherwise, Stripe mails you a paper copy. What do you need from me?
As long as your tax info is up to date, nothing. You can update it via the link in Stripe's email or by logging into your Stripe account. If we need anything else, we'll reach out.
