Deposits on CO:CREATE

Request Deposits to Book Clients. Deposit payments are processed through Stripe, our secure payment processor.

There are two ways to request a Deposit from a Client:

  • Pay Links for tattoos not booked on CO:CREATE yet. Send a Pay Link directly to any Client, wherever the conversation is happening. Drop the link into a DM, email, or SMS, or show the QR code in person. Pay Links are great for walk-ins, emails, instagram DMs, and any conversation that started off-platform.
  • Request a Deposit on an existing Booking Request. If a Client has submitted a Custom Booking Request to you on CO:CREATE, you can request the Deposit directly from that Booking Request. You can do so from the Booking Request details page, or from the plus sign shortcut on your Bookings list.

Before you request a Deposit

You'll need Stripe connected to request any payments or generate Pay Links on CO:CREATE. Your profile and Booking Form are visible to Clients even if Stripe isn't connected yet, but Stripe needs to be in place before you can take payment. See Payments on CO:CREATE for setup.

CO:CREATE's booking tools are free for Artists. You keep 100% of what you charge. To maintain that, Clients pay a single $10 booking fee in addition to the deposit amount you request. Deposits should be taken on platform so the booking fee is collected and CO:CREATE stays free for you.

Option 1: Pay Links

Pay Links are the fastest way to request a Deposit from a Client who didn't submit your Custom Booking Form. There are two kinds for Deposits:

Standard Deposit Link. Your repeatable URL. Copy it once, paste it everywhere you book Clients. The link reads your Standard Deposit Amount live, so you can send the same link to unlimited Clients. Set your Standard Deposit Amount in Pricing settings, then grab the link and the QR code from the same screen. The Standard Deposit Link turns off automatically when your Books are Closed, so you can send your link to many Clients, and close the floodgates when you need to.

Custom Deposit Link. A one-time link for a specific Client. Use this when you need a custom amount, a specific concept description, or want to limit how long the Client has to pay with an expiration date. Custom Deposit Links work even when your Books are Closed, so you can book individual Clients without opening your Books to everyone.

To send either kind, tap the plus sign at the bottom of your Bookings list and pick Deposit Request.

For a deep dive on all three Pay Link types and when to use each, see What are Pay Links?.

Option 2: Request a Deposit on an existing Booking Request

If a Client submitted a Custom Booking Request to you on CO:CREATE, you can request the Deposit directly from the Booking Request itself.

There are three ways to open the Request Deposit sheet:

  • The plus sign at the bottom of your Bookings list (pick Deposit Request, then choose the Booking Request)
  • The Next Step banner at the top of the Booking Request detail page
  • The contextual menu in the top right of the Booking Request detail page

Tap Request Deposit to open the request sheet.

Request Deposit sheet

The sheet has three fields:

  • Deposit amount (Required). The Client pays this amount, plus the 3% Stripe processing fee and $10 Booking Fee. You keep 100% of what you request. To request a custom amount, tap the Custom bubble and type the amount.
  • Expiration (Required). The request expires and cannot be paid after the selected time. Default is 30 days.
  • Total Estimate (Optional). Shows on the Booking Request and is sent to the Client in chat alongside the Deposit request. Can be a single amount or a range. You can specify "per session" or "per hour" if you want.

Expiration

Deposit requests on Booking Requests expire 1 to 30 days after sending. Once expired, the Client can no longer pay the Deposit. You can renew the Deposit or decline the Booking Request. Clients get a reminder 24 hours before expiration.

Custom Deposit Links sent via Pay Links also expire on the same 1, 2, 7, 14, or 30 day schedule. The Standard Deposit Link does not expire (it turns off based on Books Open/Closed instead).

Total Estimate

If you want to quote a project total or per-session estimate, add it here. Not required, but if included it shows on the Booking Request detail page.

Deposit Requested

Once requested, the Deposit is logged on the Booking Request in the Payments section at the top of the detail page. Tap the payment card to:

  • View the Deposit details
  • Access the payment QR code
  • Edit the Deposit request
  • Delete the Deposit request

Edit Deposit requests

Unpaid Deposit requests can be edited at any time until the Deposit is paid. Two ways:

  1. Tap the card in the Payments section. Opens the Deposit request details. Tap Edit deposit.
  2. Tap the menu (top right). Opens the Actions menu. Tap Edit deposit request.

Delete Deposit requests or Decline an open Booking Request

Deposit requests can be deleted (cancelled), and you can decline a Booking Request if you decide not to take the project.

  1. From the card. Tap the card in the Payments section. Tap Edit, then the trash icon, then Confirm.
  2. From the menu. Tap the menu (top right). Choose Actions menu, then Cancel deposit, then Confirm, then Decline Request.

Pay Links work differently. Custom Deposit Links and Custom Payment Links sent via Pay Links can't be edited or canceled after they've been sent. To stop a Standard Deposit Link, close your Books or update your Standard Deposit Amount in Pricing settings.
